Our Team Member Spotlight is on Rachel Dillon, Client Service Manager. Rachel plays an integral role in the workflow and mechanics that make Dillon CPAs a well-oiled machine. Her disciplined focus on client care, authenticity with staff relationships and conscientious work ethic all contribute to the success of our firm. Outside Rachel’s professional persona, the traits that drive her personally make for one very interesting individual. We invite you to get better acquainted with Rachel through her responses to the following questions.
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
A standup paddle board instructor in a gorgeous location, preferably warm and tropical. I love to help people experience excitement, pride and satisfaction when they learn or accomplish something new and challenging. Or, a dessert
taste tester…is that a thing?
Where is your favorite place to be?
In the sun near water: including pools, lakes and oceans! I’m not really picky!
Do you have a hobby? If so, what do you enjoy?
The hobby I get to do most often is working out. I love pushing my body to do new things. I also love standup paddle boarding, wake surfing and going on new adventures.
Where is the best place you have traveled, and why is it the best?
I love to travel, and I am fortunate to have experienced some very beautiful places. St. Maarten; St. Thomas; Dominican Republic; Deer Valley, Utah; Vail, Colo.; and Mexico are among my favorites so far. Beautiful landscapes, great
adventures and delicious food.
What is one thing you cannot resist?
I have been told I am very disciplined, but I absolutely LOVE sweets…cakes, cookies, pastries and ice cream! The sweeter the better!
What is your personal motto or mantra?
When I was 15, my grandpa told me, “Remember who you are and Whose you are.” Even as a teen, that resonated on so many levels with me. The impact of my choices extends far beyond just my life, and, as a Believer, my life and
choices should reflect Christ.
What challenges you personally?
Change! I love routine and thrive in organized, predictable environments; however, this often leads to my own boredom and complacency. Because I know I am reluctant to change, I have surrounded myself with people who
encourage change, push me to be better and affirm my efforts. Change with a detailed plan isn’t so bad!
What would others be surprised to know about you?
Even though I love to zipline, snow ski, hike and complete ropes courses, I am afraid of heights. Nothing like facing your fears, right?!
